HP announces Compaq 9400 and Compaq 6300 Notebook PC’s

Hewlett-Packard has announced new notebooks powered with Intel's new Core Duo processors, offering mobile professionals secure, easy-to-use and reliable tools, for the business sector.
 
     
  The HP Compaq 9400 Notebook PC and HP Compaq 6300 Notebook PC are powerful as Intel Core Duo processor technology enables users to simultaneously run multiple applications and in turn work more quickly and efficiently.  
 

The notebooks have a multiple layers of security protection where users can safeguard sensitive information using the HP ProtectTools suite, optional biometrics fingerprint sensor or an integrated smart card reader.

 
     
 
It also offers a battery life up to 10 hours. The new 12-cell Lithium-Ion battery accessory works across HP's line of business notebooks for greater work productivity and flexibility while traveling.
 
     
 
The notebooks have been thoughtfully designed with HP Mobile Data Protection System to help protect data from shock and vibration. It has scratch-resistant In-mold Lamination and HP Panel Protection System to prevent the display from scratching.
 
 
 
 

The HP Compaq nx9400 Notebook PC series will start at $1,499 and be available later this month worldwide. The HP Compaq 6300 series will launch at $1,049 in early April worldwide.

 
       
   
 
IBM bags first place in worldwide server revenue and in UNIX server revenue

IDC reported today that in the fourth quarter 2005, IBM is first in worldwide server revenue share for the eleventh consecutive quarter, first in blade server revenue share for the ninth consecutive quarter and first in UNIX-based server revenue.
 
     
 
According to IDC, IBM UNIX-based server revenue was number one in 2005, moving ahead of both HP and Sun, with revenue growth up 11.3 percent year-to-year for the full year and 3 percent for the fourth quarter of 2005. IBM led in fourth quarter blade server revenue with more than 42 percent of the revenue share and led full-year blade server revenue with 40.9 percent revenue share.

U.S. Patent & Trademark Office has granted Redmond Wash, a software company its five-thousandth patent, announced Microsoft Corp.

This patent not only allows the gamers to compete but also provides them with an opportunity to be spectators to the game from anywhere in the world. This patent also provides with other advantages such as it can generate highlights, instant replays and unique views of the action within the game. Xbox 360 games have got the privilege to feature the newly patent technology.

Its viewing control option allows controlling more than one camera and also gives an option to select the desired viewpoints or an automated camera control to frame the action and perform desired cuts to best convey the action.

Microsoft said it has used an "expanding IP portfolio" to launch several "development-seeding licensing initiatives," including IP Ventures, a program dedicated to bringing technology to emerging businesses. Microsoft has been granted 7,000 patents worldwide and its current goal is to file 3,000 patents annually.

Past license agreements have been granted to companies including Autodesk Inc., Inrix Inc., Motorola Inc., Palm Inc., SAP AG, Softedge-Systems, Sony Ericsson, Sun Microsystems Inc., Symbian Ltd., and Turbolinux Inc.
